Victor Muller takes Saab in to Court Protection
Two weeks ago we reported that Saab were about to seek court protection from its creditors in a bid to buy time until investment from China arrives. And that’s exactly what’s happening. Saab are waiting for investment funding from China – via Pang Da and Youngman – totalling €245 million which should put Saab back on a solvent footing – at least for a while – and allow the beleaguered Swedish car maker to resume production and push on with future plans.

Well you should have because it’s the world’s first serious hydrogen-powered car (only water is emitted from the exhaust) and a few lucky Californians and Japanese currently get to lease one as part of Honda’s research, even though they’re worth about £1m each.
Nissan said Thursday that Austrian contract manufacturer Magna Steyr will build a new premium compact car for the Infiniti brand, starting in 2014. Infiniti boss Andy Palmer said in a statement that the car will help the brand to reach new consumers and grow in key markets such as western Europe. Nissan did not give any more details about the car or say whether it will be sold in markets outside Europe such as the United States.
